Responsibilities
- Provide nutrition counseling and education for various dietary-related medical conditions for patients and caregivers.
- Provide nutrition support for patients who are unable to achieve adequate nutrition requirements orally (e.g. tube feedings, oral supplementation and total parenteral nutrition).
- Provide education and support to
- Food services personnel on therapeutic diets required by patients.
- Healthcare professionals (e.g. physicians, nurses, dietetic technicians, pharmacists)
- Participate in community nutrition education via the mass media (TV, radio, articles in newspaper/magazines) and public talks/road shows/workshops.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities (e.g. JCI, HACCP, ISO, MSQH, Halal).
- Participate in continuous professional development and research programmes.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or Post graduate studies in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Fresh graduates with clinical attachment in hospital and food services are encouraged to apply.
- Comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy and food services.
- Must be able to read and write in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Knowledge of other languages / dialects would be an added advantage.
- General knowledge of nutrient analysis and word processing programmes.
- Able to function independently on assigned patient care units.
- Have an honest and pleasant personality and able to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
